Learn how to make the Passover holiday special with the food we have on hand or are able to get, plus how to celebrate the holiday separated from many loved ones. Susan will demonstrate cooking a Persian Cauliflower Kuku (think kugel, but with lots of vegetables and herbs) and talk about adapting dishes for the holiday.
Also a foraging challenge – ask Susan (and each other) for ideas about how to avoid food waste and use ingredients in your cupboard and refrigerator. The Kuku recipe will be online at The Washington Post on March 30, in print April 1.

Learn & Sing Along – Sephardic Songs that are sung on Shabbat, including Refa Tsiri composed by R. Refael Antebi of Syria. The melody is based on Judeo-Spanish song Triste Vida, which we’ll also sing. Unlike other traditional Jewish songs, Refa Tsiri expresses a personal request for healing, including mental health.
*REFA TSIRI* (Heal My Pain – Hebrew) prefaced with *VIDA TRISTE ES ESTA* (This Sad Life – Judeo-Spanish) | *ANA YA HABIBI* (Now, My Love [I Beseech You] – Hebrew ) | *ANA YA HABIBI* (Wishes for a Good Shabbat w/ Health & Life – Judeo-Spanish) | etc.
