Mimouna marks the end of Passover and the advent of spring. Our celebration is inspired by the Moroccan Jewish and interfaith narratives of unity, commemoration, goodwill and friendship of neighbors.

Enjoy the rich and diverse influences of Gnawa and Andalusi music performed by Ismail Bouzidoune and Mor Karbasi.

Inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Gnawa is concentrated in Morocco but has many influences that can be traced to sub-Saharan West-Africa.

Andalusi music, originally developed in al-Andalus in the Iberian Peninsula in the 9th century by the native Muslim population, influenced many different styles of music across the Maghreb, including piyyutim (liturgical music of Moroccan Jews), which is sung in Hebrew, Arabic, and Haketía (the Moroccan dialect of Ladino, classified by UNESCO as a highly endangered language).
