Overview

Roster of Musicians:

Vocalist/composer and anthropologist, GALEET DARDASHTI, is a trail-blazing performer and advocate for Middle Eastern Jewish culture. TONY has described Dardashti’s music as “urgent, heartfelt and hypnotic;” The Huffington Post called it “heart-stopping.” She is currently a Fellow at UPenn.

DANIELLE DARDASHTI is an Emmy award-winning documentary writer/producer, a former on-air TV news reporter, and a Moth storySLAM champion. She leads corporate storytelling workshops all over the world.

DANIEL ORI is an Israeli born bassist, composer and producer, and a prominent voice in the New York contemporary jazz and world music scene. He has performed worldwide and collaborated with notable jazz musicians such as Lionel Loueke, Dave Liebman, Tim Hagans, Oz Noy, Mark Turner and Kenwood Dennard, to name a few. Ori is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston as well as a winner of the 2009 ASCAP Jazz Composers Award. Daniel has released two solo albums, and is currently leading and co-leading multiple projects. His music has been described as fresh, communicative, lyrical and rhythmic. A blend of modern jazz with Middle Eastern roots and pan African influences.

MAX ZT is a 2024 Grammy-nominated musician (House of Waters), who has been dubbed the “Jimi Hendrix of Hammered Dulcimer” by NPR. His band regularly tours with Snarky Puppy.

Percussionist/Drummer, PHIL MAYER, has a background in jazz, popular, and Middle Eastern music. He regularly tours with Natalie Merchant and originated the drum book for the hit Broadway musical, “The Band’s Visit.”

ZAFER TAWIL is a Palestinian musician based in NYC, known as a virtuoso of Arab/Middle Eastern music.
